During the roundtable discussion of the “Fair Russia — For Truth” faction on the topic “The demographic situation in Russia and Moscow: main trends, problems and prospects” on August 20, one of the issues discussed was the alarming connection between the country’s demographic problems and the growing shadow market for medical devices.

Evgenia Zinovieva, Chair of the AICCMP, in her speech reported on the scale of the problem of counterfeit medical devices, which poses a serious threat to patients’ health and deals a significant blow to the country’s economy.
As the main method of protection, Evgenia Zinovieva presented the tool developed by the AICCMP to protect legitimate market participants.
“Technology for maintaining the authenticity of products,” the indicator of which cannot be forged or copied thanks to protection using anti‑stokes compounds similar to those used to protect banknotes. It has several levels of protection, including light and sound.
“Product Authenticity Support Technology” is an innovative development designed to guarantee the authenticity of medical products and enhance patient safety.
This technology aroused the interest of the roundtable participants, who also agreed on the timeliness of implementing additional protective measures.
Based on the results of the roundtable, proposals have been drawn up for further submission to legislative and executive authorities with the aim of protecting Russian citizens.
